I've been using it for about 2 weeks and so far I'm very happy with it. The build quality is very good, the knobs sometimes don't register a turn if you spin it too fast, but nothing awful. The keys feel nice and are quiter than I expected. It is a little difficult to program some things, but not too bad. I would however appretiate if it had it's own software, but it's not a deal breaker, just use VIA on google. The hardest part is figuring out what to bind the different keys to. Highly recommended.

The pad is great, very pleased with the function and quality. HOWEVER, the lack of out-of-box compatibility should be addressed. The included packaging/pamphlet advertise that it has plug and play compatibility with Via, which is not the case; I was able to figure out how to get it to work after reading a compilation of online forums. I DID have to disassemble the unit and use the manual reset button (the software flashing method did not work). More information on this process from the manufacturer would be incredibly valuable!

i have no complaints its a good macropad

I generally like it but the connection of the USB to the macro pad is somewhat defective. Whenever I try to move the macro pad around or sometimes even with a small shake on the desk would make it disconnected and reconnect. Based on other reviews I don't think this is normal but I guess that's my luck

The product works great, but the setup could be easier on Linux

The VIA app is, without a doubt, one of the worst configuration tools I’ve encountered. While the concept of a fully customizable macro pad like the Megalodon Triple Knob is exciting, the execution falls apart entirely due to the unintuitive software and the endless troubleshooting it requires.
Initial Setup Frustration

From the start, the VIA app felt like a guessing game. Features are buried under vague menus, and basic tasks like mapping hotkeys require a level of trial and error that no user should endure. Even worse, simple actions like assigning macros or layering commands were met with unexplained errors that required constant resets.
Conflicts With Other Devices

Once I managed to map a few keys and knobs, I discovered a much bigger issue: the Megalodon would disable my laptop's keyboard and trackpad entirely whenever I touched a button or knob. The only way to resolve this was to restart the entire system. Even disconnecting and reconnecting the Megalodon didn’t help, which led to hours of frustration. For a device that markets itself as enhancing productivity, this was a massive failure.
Firmware and Compatibility Issues

To make matters worse, flashing the firmware via QMK Toolbox didn’t resolve the issue, nor did trying different USB ports or isolating the device on its own bus. The product appears to conflict directly with standard HID protocols, causing all connected devices to malfunction. Passing a custom configuration file (.JSON) between systems was the only thing that partially resolved the problem, but this should not be the user’s responsibility.
Poor Documentation

The documentation is either nonexistent or assumes the user already has an advanced understanding of how to manage firmware, HID protocols, and JSON files. There’s no step-by-step troubleshooting guide, no official support channels for deeper issues, and no indication that these problems are even recognized by the manufacturer.
Verdict

While the hardware of the Megalodon Triple Knob is promising, its usability is crippled by the VIA app and the lack of proper support. I can’t recommend this product to anyone who doesn’t have the technical expertise and patience to troubleshoot constant issues. If you're looking for a plug-and-play experience, this is absolutely not it.
